Civil weddings can take place in any place in the UK that holds a marriage licence. There are over 4000 such venues in the UK, including hotels, racecourses, museums, stately homes, football clubs and castles. West Sussex has over 80 such approved venues. Please contact us for a list of approved venues in West Sussex.
Once a decision has been made on the place of marriageĀ you will need to contact the Superintendent Registrar of the district in which the venue is situated to confirm that two registrars will be available to conduct your ceremony and register your marriage.
Fees will need to be made for the attendance of the registrars at your wedding. The fee for the venue will be made separately. It is essential that the date and time for both the registrar and the venue is made before any other planning is commenced.
Please contact us if we can help you to find a suitable approved venue and to ensure that registrars are available at the agreed date and time. Sussex Wedding Planner can save you valuable time in organising this for you and may even be able to help you make savings on the cost of the venue.
